Hanns.G offering US$237 19-inch LCD monitor

A new company called Hanns.G has begun selling LCD monitors that feature panels from HannStar Display, according to Hanns.G. The company is currently offering an entry-level 19-inch LCD monitor (JG191A) in the Taiwan market for NT$7,990 (US$237).

The 10ms JG191A features a contrast ratio of 800:1, brightness of 300cd/m2 and a viewing angle of 140/130 (H/V) degrees.

Founded in July 2005, Hanns.G focuses on 19-inch LCD monitor models. In addition to producing its own-brand monitors, Hanns.G explained. Hanns.G is also planning to market 19-inch widescreen LCD monitors next year.

Although Hanns.G is not a HannStar invested company, currently all of its panels come from the second-tier panel maker.

Hanns.G has begun shipping its own-brand LCD monitors to Taiwan and New Zealand, and its third quarter shipments totaled 15,000-20,000 units.
